Design

The OnePlus 5 smartphone is a good-looking one which resembles slightly like a matte-black iPhone 7 along with flash, blended antenna, and the camera arrangement. If we talk about the front it is almost similar to the OnePlus 3 and 3T which is good to go.

Makers have done a good job in the terms of features and making the product so comfortable to use and hold. If it’s old-fashioned in some sense then it’s fine to some extent. The phone fixes perfectly in your hand, super slim, and the 3D Gorilla Glass 5 on the front also curves a little.

Performance, Camera, and Battery life

Using Qualcomm’s speedy processor plus the slick new OxygenOS, system, and app performance are exceptional. The phone uses the ample RAM onboard to make sure things run effortlessly. On average, we found around 3.9GB being used, leaving us with about 1.7GB on the 6GB model. Flipping through the apps in the app drawer and swapping between them doesn’t put any pressure on the phone, and the changes are buttery even – dare we say Pixel-flat.

The call quality is very decent and we never confronted any audio concerns during a call. The speaker is also pretty apt for conference calls.

OnePlus 5 Next Level SmartPhone

Initiated as a Chinese startup by introducing OnePlus 3 and it started from there and now another great new launch they recently have grabbed the eyeballs with their superb launch of OnePlus 5 as it has taken things to a whole new level.

With all the great features this smartphone is making headlines and there is a remarkable dual-camera setup on the back, but in typical OnePlus fashion, there’s a decent amount of power and the option available up to  8GB of RAM.

No wonder OnePlus 5 is an eccentric deal, but the higher price demands a more critical look at some of its flaws. There is still a lot of room for improvement but at the same time, it is till date one of the best tech bargains. However, there are few missing features along with odd omissions.

UPDATE

Just so you know the famous OnePlus 5 is now available in a shiny new color. You can pick this model in Soft Gold along with black and slightly less black or if you like a little grey then you can go for Slate Grey. The soft gold is not that jazzy or creates any bling although it looks almost silver in certain shades.

Screen

The Ergonomics have been improved a lot with its 5.5-inch display is a larger phone than the 5.8-inch Samsung Galaxy S8, but it’s slighter smaller in all sizes than the same-screen-size iPhone 7 Plus. It doesn’t feel big in look and feel, though once you get the hang of it you can reach through all the elements of the screen with a swipe of a hand.

Other Features

Earlier OnePlus devices have felt great for their price, which inclined to be lower, but even though the OnePlus starts with little economical it still feels better built than anything else in that cost. The whole thing is exactly cut, it feels durable and there are really neat traces like the alert “slider” that is nicely placed above the “volume rocker”. I know these features are basic but then you find beauty in small things, but why it needs appreciation is because you’re able to quickly flip the phone into silent mode when it’s still in your pocket more and more.
